Project & Infrastructure Scope
This role supports Costain for the Reactor Height Reduction Project at Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) Trawsfynydd Site, based in North Wales. The 3.5 year project will involve the partial demolition of each RB’s, reducing the overall height and reducing the current
asset management liability. In addition, an extensive package of civil new build and remedial Works will be delivered prolonging the durability of the retained structures.
A first of its kind for the Nuclear Sector; this challenging and exciting project which includes a wide supply chain will significantly reduce the uncertainty associated with the current condition of the reactor buildings and lessen the visual impact caused by the Reactor Buildings on the Snowdonia National Park.
Costain delivers complex smart infrastructure solutions across the UK's core sectors: Transportation (National Highways, Network Rail), Water (Thames Water, United Utilities AMP8 frameworks), Energy Transition, and Defence. As part of this collaborative delivery team, you will contribute directly to high-impact capital delivery frameworks.
Core Responsibilities & Impact
- Lead and coordinate technical, operational, or commercial delivery packages to required quality, safety, and regulatory benchmarks.
- Interface effectively with client stakeholders, multidisciplinary design consultants, and supply chain partners.
- Ensure full compliance with CDM regulations, statutory guidelines, carbon reduction targets, and digital engineering standards.
- Drive innovative engineering solutions, risk mitigation, and continuous performance improvement across project milestones.
Qualifications & Professional Competencies
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or Project Management.
- Proven experience in UK capital infrastructure, civil engineering, major highways, rail, or water framework environments.
- Strong analytical problem-solving, stakeholder communication, and team leadership capabilities.
- Commitment to safety leadership, collaborative working, and sustainable engineering practice.
Compensation & Employee Benefits Guidance
Estimated Remuneration: GBP £42,000 - £62,000 per annum (commensurate with skills and experience)
