We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Project Manager to join our team on the Necton Project, working within the Overhead Lines (OHL) Framework for National Grid. This role will support the successful delivery of a portfolio of high‑profile and technically challenging schemes.

Role Responsibilities
Lead the day‑to‑day delivery of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Manage full project mobilisation, including establishment of site facilities, procurement of subcontractors, and onboarding of project personnel.
Provide visible and effective leadership on health, safety, environmental and compliance matters, always promoting a strong safety culture.
Manage project risks, quality assurance processes, and ensure full compliance with legislative, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
Maintain accurate project forecasting, cost control, and robust financial performance reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop, monitor, and update project programmes, ensuring construction activities align with agreed schedules and milestones.
Lead, mentor, and develop the project team, fostering high performance, collaboration, and professional growth.
Manage key stakeholders and project interfaces, maintaining clear communication and positive working relationships.
Oversee contract administration and supply chain management to ensure best value, performance, and timely delivery.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Proven experience in a Project Manager role, ideally within the Energy or related infrastructure sector.
Experience delivering National Grid projects is advantageous, though not essential.
Demonstrated strong leadership capability with a proven ability to manage internal teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders effectively.
Comprehensive construction knowledge, with experience managing complex, multi‑disciplinary projects.
Strong track record of successfully managing project budgets, delivery programmes, and project risk registers.
Sound understanding of UK legislative and regulatory requirements, particularly in relation to Health & Safety.
Proven commitment to safe systems of work and best‑practice site management standards.
Strong commercial awareness with proven experience in financial control and cost management.
Solid working knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 forms of contract, including change control processes, early warnings, and compensation events.

About the Energy Business Unit
We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.
Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.

Key Qualifications & Candidate Profile
- Relevant technical qualifications in Construction Management, Commercial Surveying, or relevant technical trade.
- Proven track record operating on UK construction sites or major infrastructure frameworks.
- Knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental standards (CDM regulations, CSCS, IOSH/NEBOSH).
- Strong communication, team coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
Compensation & Benefits Guidance
Estimated Remuneration: GBP £45,000 - £65,000 per annum (competitive market rate commensurate with experience)
